Trisquare Switchgears Knowledge Byte- “Basics of Power Factor”

The most crucial phenomenon in power distribution system are AC circuits. In an electrical system, the apparent power has to be supplied by electrical utility, for low power factor loads, utilities impose the penalty as it increase the load on the transformer and distribution equipment, over consumption of kilowatt-hour power, causing more IR losses.

Power factor ranges for different loads such as transformers at no load: 0.1-0.15, motor PF range: 0.7-0.85, welding machine/ furnace: 0.35-0.9, VFDs: 0.4-0.97, which aids us to select suitable product and solution to stabilize the system.

Trisquare Switchgears offers the most reliable and efficient solution, “TriCare 2.0G APFC Panels” which reduces the losses and thereby increases the energy efficiency of the system which results into less penalties to the end customers.
